Jimmy Carter: Racism Czar?

Just when I was sure that Ben Bernanke was the biggest nut to step off the crazy bus this week, our illustrious former president Jimmy Carter has once again astounded the nation with his brilliant insights on racism.

In fact, this "elder statesman" has made so many profound remarks on the topic over the years, it would be little wonder if The ObamaNation with its penchant for putting unelected jackasses into positions of power doesn't quickly name the former peanut farmer its new "racism czar."

After listening to the "man from Plains," how could any of ye socks doubt that any disagreement with the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue must boil down to color?

Remember, this is the guy who once accepted the endorsement of Georgia's segregationist governor Lester Mattox with the statement, "I hope to live up to his standard."

Oh, and let us not forget his masterpiece on the subject of racism, "Palestine," which has garnered him the accolades of every anti-Semite from Osama bin Laden on down the list.

I would suggest to Jimmy-Boy that the color issue is not simply one of black and white. Instead, I think HellCare and the other socialist proposals flowing out of DC lately are what is provoking outspoken opposition to The ObamaNation. People beyond the beltway are seeing RED, not black or white.

Are we doomed to relive these dark episodes in history?

I am alarmed, ye socks.

Over the last five months, we have seen a 271% increase of the money supply.

But, people aren't spending much of it. Car sales are down. Home purchases are comatose. Consumer spending is in the proverbial toilet. And, the only corporate investments being made are being made by the government.

So, where is all that money supply? Well, in the case of yours truly, the dollars are going to pay-down existing debts. But, anecdotal evidence at hand indicates a lot of folks are sitting on their cash, squirreling it away until the economy improves.

Why is that so scary? Well, think about it. If all that squirreled-away money is brought back into the marketplace alongside all the "bail-out" cash the feds are injecting into the system, the result is going to be hyperinflation.

Crack a history book if you don't believe me.

Dark episode #1:
The Weimar Republic, where (as pictured above) paper currency was so devalued by inflation, that it took cart loads of it to buy even the simplest household necessities.

Dark episode #2:
The Carter Era, when we had to outpace all the grocery store clerks, grabbing things off the shelves before they could jack-up the price stickers on us.

This is not the time for the massive government spending the ObamaNation advocates. We should be shoring-up the value of our dollar with sound fiscal policy.

Hope and change!

William F. Buckley, Jr. (1925-2008)

The conservative movement in America has lost one of its most distinctive voices today with the death of William Frank Buckley, Jr.

I am sure his contributions to the cause will be highlighted on all the major news outlets today.

But, I thought I'd let ye socks know why Buckley was always a favorite of yours truly.

Unlike many in the political arena today, Buckley was unabashedly politically incorrect. And, he wasn't afraid to get in the face of any liberal foolish enough to engage him in a debate.

The most classic example was that idiot Gore Vidal, kin to many prominent Democrats like the Kennedys, Jimmy Carter and Al Gore.

Back in 1968, Vidal squared off against the ruthless Buckley in a live televised debate that probably would not make it past the censors today.

Anyway, Vidal persisted in labeling Buckly a "crypto-Nazi," and received the following rebuke in front of a much-amused national audience, "Now listen, you queer, stop calling me a crypto-Nazi or I will sock you in your goddamn face, and you will stay plastered!"

He said what many folks felt. And, that took guts. We need more of that these days.

RIP.
