Congressional biographies . . .
I found this great site while trying to find more information on John Wingate Weeks, the first chief of the Orlando Fire Department:

Have you ever pulled everything out of your clothes dryer, folded it all, then found a leftover sock? It happens to me all the time and invariably leads to a big hunt. I thought that obsessive hunt for the sock was a pretty good analogy for all the peculiar little things that embroil me from time to time. Anyway, I thought the blog medium would be a good way to keep track of all these "missing socks!"

Hey there,
I just noticed your posting(Wednesday, November 09, 2005
Bumby bumblings). I just wanted to make a correction. I'm not from Missouri. I live in North Carolina. I was born and raised in Wauchula, Florida. But for almost twenty years I've lived in the mountains of North Carolina on the outskirts of Asheville.
And of coarse I have to ask, have you found any more info for me on the Bumbys? I'm still trying to make a connection with Joseph Bumby.
Thanks,
Christine Bumby Allen
Duly noted! And, no, nothing new on the Bumby family, except to note that I did swap some info with a lady named Anne Bennett after my father's funeral in March '07. She is a Bumby descendant, and lives in Belle Isle, FL. Do you know her?
