The National Anthem in Spanish?!?

You've got to be kidding me!

Why is it that previous generations of immigrant groups came to this country and strove to assimilate into American society, but the current generation wants to come and make this country like the places they left?!

I mean you didn't see the Irish come over here and demand that everyone cater to them in Gaelic.

The Italians didn't try to turn the Star Spangled Banner into an operatic aria.

The Chinese complied with the immigration laws of the time. (And, believe me, they were far more onerous than the romper room piffle we call an immigration policy today.)

Come to this country. Find opportunity you couldn't find at home. Make life better for yourself and your family. Welcome.

BUT

Respect our laws. Respect our heritage. And Respect our common values . . . one of which is the ability to communicate with one another

IN ENGLISH!

Okay, off the soap box. It's time for weekend pursuits . . .
